HEY, EVERYBODY #009

June 1, 2009

heyeverybody_logoHot damn, it’s another “Hey, Everybody!”-packed week — this is the first of two episodes to drop this week. It’s a big-big debrief on J.C.’s recent adventures at Balticon 43, which was held Memorial Day weekend.

There are muchly ruminations, including recaps on J.C.’s first public reading, the Stranger Things SINGULARITY event, the Personal Effects: Dark Art launch party, his impressions about the PE:DA novel itself, and some philosophical ramblings here and there. Someone get this guy a frickin’ script!

Be sure to answer J.C.’s call to action regarding the Personal Effects “Swag Bag.” Send him an email with your thoughts! And do please consider pre-ordering a copy of Personal Effects: Dark Art.

Links/awesome folk mentioned in this epsiode:

The anthem for Hey, Everybody! is “Chip Away” by Jane’s Addition, distributed freely via BitTorrent and the Nine Inch Nails/Jane’s Addiction tour site, Ninja2009.com.

Had to laugh when you spoke about feeling like a fraud. I am the webmaster/designer/know more than my boss for my 50+ person church. I use iWeb which does all the heavy lifting. Yes, its up on the web, but calling me a web designer is slanderous to the profession!

My Pastor is always introducing me to the politicos of our denomination and then speaking of my work in ways which scare me. If I was 1/4 as good as he makes me sound…

Here’s the secret. No, I don’t code from scratch, but I do have enough smarts to get it done. I had to realize that I’m not a fraud, but just a lower level web person.

You, my friend, are no fraud, but I sure know how you feel.

I’m going to buy the book now, but would be willing to drop $10 for the bag and swag. m&m’s in a perscription pill bottle! I LOVE it!

Yes, please tell us more of how the book got worked on for the extra items. I saw it on “I should be writing” and it looked amazing even via video.

    Hutch

I always enjoy Balticon reminiscences, it helps the experience
    last that much longer.

I recently had the opportunity to provide some needed support and life counseling to someone I care about. This is what I told that person,

“Life is short, you only get one, you deserve to spend it happy and you’re obligated to help others do the same.”

Nice to see you share the sentiment! There aren’t nearly enough
people out there spreading the word.

    Keep on making us happy!

Got something to say?
